Youth Communication - True Stories by Teens - Since 1980

Youth Communication helps marginalized youth develop their full potential through reading and writing, so that they can succeed in school and at work and contribute to their communities. Executive Director Keith Hefner won a MacArthur Fellowship for his work in youth development. He developed and tested many of the activities in the Real Stories Program with teens. Development Without Limits

Development Without Limits works with schools and community-based organizations to develop curriculum and train staff. Townsend Press is an educational publisher of reading, vocabulary, and writing textbooks for the school and college market. Reel Works

The Real Men DVD was created by the teen film-making organiztion, ReelWorks.
Reel Works trains teens to create short documentary films about their lives, working with professional filmmaker-mentors. Reel Works Productions, their youth-run production company, produces high-quality, low-cost media for non-profit organizations.
